We are looking for an engineer to join our team for a full-time remote position. Your job Assaia International AG is working on a deep learning-based system that monitors and analyses aircraft turnarounds using the incoming video streams. See how the technology works on our website and YouTube channel! We were founded in February 2018 and are working on pilot deployments in more than 30 airports in Europe, Americas, Asia and Oceania. You will be working closely with a team of data scientists and system engineers. Our short-term goal is to continue adding new data pipelines while keeping already existing ones stable. This is where we rely on you! Your main responsibilities will be: Developing the video processing pipelines, consisting of scripts for downloading the videos, re-coding them and making them available for the training or real-time systems. Optimizing the conversion speed, storage footprint and resulting quality of the video. Depending on the source format, using plain ffmpeg or proprietary SDKs. Integrating the pipelines with our deep learning pipeline — ensuring that as soon as the data is available, the experiments are launched. Communicating with the team members that will be using the video processed by you, making sure that the prepared data meets the expectations. This could be data scientists, system engineers or even the business team/sales. With great responsibility comes great power! Requirements Good at Solid general programming skills, writing clean code Python, Linux command line At least some experience with Networking (TCP/IP) Any other programming languages, e.g. JavaScript, Java, C++ Would be a plus Experience with Docker Experience with any web development stack Experience with ffmpeg Understanding of video technologies (codecs/containers/streaming) Any experience with the data science-related Python stack (e.g. Numpy) Why Assaia As an early employee, you will enjoy watching the startup grow from inside and will be able to steer the direction of the company’s development.
