Real-time data storage efficiency – (various grades Spb) HW research center in Russia is looking for qualified candidates to join data storage efficiency team in Spb. Primary focus of the team is to provide competitive solutions for the best customer satisfaction with various current and future products of HW. The product area covers the distributed storage, all flash array storage, cloud storage and so on Responsibilities: Design and implement the key technical or key algorithm, proof-of-concept for HW product requirements in areas of data storage, big Data and joint areas, the researches include but not limited to storage virtualization, storage vertical optimization for cloud, distributed consistency protocol, metadata management, I/O scheduling and traffic controlling, erasure code, data deduplication, compression, data structure optimization, kernel optimization of the distributed NoSQL, garbage collection, etc. Analyze requirements of key technology and algorithm, define the innovative algorithm solutions according to the customer requirement, lead the research on the new topics and build long-term competitiveness of products Improve quality and performance of sub-system in current HW products; Qualifications required at least two required: Proven ability to deliver and maintain product quality code in C/C++; R&D SW development experience Or PhD degree related to computer science or mathematics; Winner of ACM, Math competitions Good verbal, written communication skills in Russian and English languages. Qualifications preferred, at least two required: Have rich experience in storage key technologies sub-system design and implementation; Being technical leader, architect or key developer in at least two research and/or productized SW projects; Working abroad or in international SW projects; Proven experience with Agile (full cycle) practices of SW development; Measurable achievements in SW quality and/or performance improvements as compared to baseline, open source, or competing products; Have strong problem analysis and practical problem solving ability. Extensive practical use, or noticeable contribution to open source.
