Main Duties & Responsibilities: Manage the Logistics and Stores Departments of the Project Develop the Project Logistics Plan . Deputize for the Procurement Manager in his absence Plan and Manage the Project’s Logistics to ensure that all material/equipment arrives on site at the scheduled time. Negotiate with both local and international freight forwarders to obtain optimum terms and conditions for company. Report to the Procurement Manager on progress updates relating to logistics/stores Accountable for all logistics for the project(local and international). Arrange with customs brokers to ensure no delays at customs. Arrange suitable storage areas for material/equipment. Ensures all stores receiving, issuing and auditing procedures are fully complied with. Preparing paperwork for regulatory bodies Coordinating drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports Keep track of slow moving and obsolete stock Initiate and direct safety audits applicable to the Department. Candidate Profile: Degree in Engineering or commercial discipline. Minimum 10 years post qualification experience. Minimum 5 years’ experience as Logistics Manager working for a Western Company(preferably in Construction sector) Prior experience of working in logistics/supply chain/transportation function within the Construction Industry with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and procedures Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations Strong IT systems knowledge and skills Must be computer literate as appropriate to the role.(MS Office suite including MS Project). Mature, proactive, resourceful, hands-on with good initiatives and ability to leverage organizational resources. Good negotiating skills Language requirements-fluent English/Russian.
