Bilingual Montessori preschool is looking for a native English speaking assistant for working in a 3-6 Montessori classroom (preferably from USA or UK) This position requires love, patience and respect for children. The English speaking assistant provides native English environment and encourages the children to understand and speak English. She/he will also motivate the children to be independent and self-confident and model appropriate manners and behaviors for them. The assistant will also instruct children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth following the philosophies of Maria Montessori by performing the following duties : · Assist the main teacher in working with children: help them choose work, complete work cycles, return work to the shelves; · Make sure every child is busy, protect the child’s concentration; · Allow children to be as independent as possible; · Assure children’s safety in the classroom and during outdoor activities; · Prepare the classroom in the morning and clean it for the next day in the afternoon; · Plan and develop English language area, present English language materials to children; encourage children to work with them; · Run group activities (learning circles, teaching songs and rhymes, cooking and art activities); · Help kids with the dressing/changing, organize outside time, make sure everybody is safe; · Observe all the processes in the classroom and playground and assimilate with them; · Take part in making reports about English language development of the child; · Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children, parents and co-workers; · Constantly maintain an English environment; · Take part in staff meetings, parent meetings, seminars. Be an active part of the school. Requirements · Native speaker or bilingual is required · Basic Russian is preferred · Experience with children (nanny, school setting, any group setting) · Lots of patience and ability to control your emotions · Readiness to work hard and learn a lot · Willingness to learn about Montessori and follow Montessori principles · Lots of energy, great health and physical state · Good team player and communicator · Passion for working with kids · Lots of understanding for the people who speak a different language Working conditions: · Working in a friendly and supportive environment · Free internal trainings on Montessori method, partly paid external education · Monday to Friday, 8.30 a.m. – 2.30 p.m. There are 2-4 extra hours per week for staff meetings and working on the environment. You may also conduct extra English classes (up to 4 times a week) · We provide any assistance needed for comfortable living in Moscow (help find an appartment, going to the doctor, finding gym, Russian courses, cultural activities etc.) · Working days missed by any reason are not paid · Russian national holidays are days off · 4 weeks of paid vacation (during summer) are provided · Monthly salary RUB 70000. Salary can be discussed depending on the background. Extra English classes may give you up to RUB 40000 per month.
