Vacancy Notice The ICRC Regional Delegation for Central Asia seeks to fill the following position: Generalist Field Officer Duty station in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, 100% Starting date: As soon as possible The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles. Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the Geneva Conventions and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Please visit www.icrc.org for more information. Generalist Field Officer contributes to defining, implementing and monitoring several ICRC projects and activities (protection, prevention) in coordination with the structure’s management and to representing the ICRC at local/national level. will have the following key responsibilities : Supports the ICRC Nur-Sultan Office for Protection and Prevention related activities: Implement activities as per available guidelines and contribute to the orientation of the Delegation's protection and prevention action. Develop/maintain a network of contacts with relevant judicial, military, police and security authorities. Prepare, participate in and report on all aspects of field assignments. Organize regional/national meetings/gatherings/conferences; apply relevant administrative and logistics procedures to the same. Take notes during meetings and conferences and draft reports/MoMs and maintain a system for archiving for the purposes of institutional memory. Translate and/or interpret from Kazakh, Russian to English and vice versa, when required. During meetings and conferences, represent the ICRC upon request at his/her level of expertise. Manage budget and monitor their implementation Handle the correspondence independently and accurately. Selection requirements and experience Diploma/degree in law or social sciences. 3 to 5 years of work experience (preferably in a similar field of activity) Fluent command of English in addition to Kazakh and Russian languages. Computer proficiency. Your profile Strongly motivated by humanitarian work, with capacity to engage, persuade and influence others. Emotional intelligence, effective communication and listening skills. Open minded and adaptable, ability to interact collaboratively in a multicultural team.
