Responsibilities: The teacher is expected to teach the basics in music to the students and foster an ambition of pursuing music as their career. Here is an overview of the elementary music teacher responsibilities for your reference. Primary Qualifications: · to have at least bachelor's degree in music education (or similar field); · to have teaching certification; · to be able provide students with basic instrument and vocal instructions; · to direct Elementary choir (to help the teacher); · to help with teaching how to play instruments such as the xylophone, ukulele, recorder and drums, and provide instruction in reading music and singing; · to help organize school performances; · to love working with children; · to have organized and productive personality; · to speak and understand English; · computer skills Primary Responsibilities: · Introduce students to a variety of instruments and give them a short brief-up about its cultural importance · Teach the students to identify the different instruments from the way they look and sound · Familiarize the students with the basic concepts of music such as notes, tempo, symphony, beats, compositions, chords, scales, rhythm, etc. · Coach the students to play various songs and jingles on piano, guitar, violin, bongo, and other instruments · Instruct the students on how to coordinate the songs with other musical instruments · Teach the students to read the musical notes accurately and imply them practically while playing the instrument · Acquaint the students with different music genres such as jazz, classical, techno, pop, folk, etc. · Prepare the students to participate in concerts by directing the music performance of the students · Identify when a student plays an instrument off-beat or off track and help him correct it To be a music teacher, it is expected to know the right method of playing different instruments. Be adept at identifying the mistakes in rhythm and vocals. Besides competence in music, a teacher requires strong teaching abilities. Since the teacher teaches students between the age group of 6 to 10 years, they must be adept at understanding the potential and limitations of every individual student.
