BASF in Ukraine, the world's largest chemical company with HQ in Germany, is happy to invite talented and goal-oriented professional to fill the position of Wheat Breeder. Main responsibilities: The breeder is responsible for the selection process of his germplasm. In cooperation with the Senior breeder engaged in creation and support of new winter wheat lines for usage in the selection of hybrid wheat. Develops, conducts, analyzes and interprets integrated experiments on wheat breeding Drive innovation on winter wheat selection and field testing methods, develops and implements on the basis of this information technologically grounded solutions for wheat breeding Identifies problems and provides recommendations on Wheat breeding projects. Provides technical guidance on the implementation and enforcement of the security arrangement Develops recommendations and cycle for the field experiments. Develops and implements schemes for sowing and maps of field experiments. Together with Senior breeder, applying appropriate methodology of breeding and seed production of wheat, and prepare the parental program for the implementation of Predictive Breeding and all innovative breeding methods developed by BASF. Under the direction of the senior breeder prepares the seeds for sowing, sows, post sowing care and collects results of breeding experiments. Responsible for seed multiplication in accordance with standard operating procedures for breeding, seed production and seed quality control, in coordination with maintenance Breeder. Makes analysis and synthesis of research results, including preparing short presentations, with field and laboratory data Systematically reviews (analyzes) standard operating procedures and work instructions. Implements innovative plant protection systems for new varieties and lines in order to develop winter wheat breeding technologies. Conducts research, develops and participates in research projects, in the development and implementation of new technologies, the preparation of publications, the legalization of intellectual property, and the preservation of trade secrets. Responsible for seasonal workers and junior breeders. Qualifications: University Degree in the field of breeding Experience in the field of wheat breeding and agronomy. Computer skills, knowledge of the main Microsoft Office package. Fluency in English at a sufficient level (not below the level of Intermediate). Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in crop improvement and variety development; Strong computer, analytical and creative skills are needed to analyze data; Working knowledge of molecular markers and wheat quality parameters; Ability to provide input for plant operations budget; Organizational and time management skills; Excellent verbal and writing communication skills; Critical and logical thinking ability to plan present and future needs; Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point.
