Background: KfW is Germany's leading promotional bank, wholly owned by the Government and the German Federal States. It is one of the major implementing agencies of German Development Cooperation, entrusted as the implementation arm for the German Financial Cooperation with developing countries and emerging economies. On behalf of the German Government, KfW finances investments and advisory services in developing and transitional countries. KfW projects are aimed at economic development, development of social infrastructure and environmental protection. Areas of cooperation with the Government of the Republic Uzbekistan focus on health, sustainable economic development and education. Job Description: KfW has aligned its work with the Government of Uzbekistan and strives for provision of modern health care in line with international standards. Special focus of project activities is on improving the quality of care and on further improving the access to medical services. We are now looking to strengthen our Country Team in Uzbekistan. Specifically, we are looking to hire an experienced health specialist who can support our regional division and the sector teams in appraising and monitoring existing activities and in identifying prospective new project ideas. Further tasks may be covered by the incumbent as seen fit by KfW Country management. Your main duties and responsibilities: The incumbent: • liaises and builds lasting working relationships with Uzbek, German and international partners; • supports the health division at KfW Headquarters in the identification, assessment, appraisal and implementation of KfW supported projects in the health sector in Uzbekistan; • attends meetings in different settings and constellations as well as at different representational levels; prepares minutes of meetings; • monitors and reports on project progress and sector developments; • follows up requests from KfW staff members in Tashkent and Frankfurt in an active and timely manner; • advises partners on KfW's projects, procedures, rules and regulations; • assists in public relation efforts; • facilitates project planning and review missions, field monitoring visits; • travels to project sites as assigned; • assumes any other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned. Job Requirements: • Master degree in a relevant field (e.g. public health or related fields) • At least 5 year of relevant experience in project management • Proven ability to work with government counterparts to implement challenging development assistance activities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Uzbek and Russian. Knowledge of German language would represent a significant asset • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications • Ability to set priorities and work independently • Ability and willingness to integrate into our international team and work in the intercultural environment • Readiness to travel within and outside of Uzbekistan • Professionalism in appearance and demeanor • Confidently interacts with a variety of stakeholders such as Uzbek entities, international donor representatives, NGO representatives, consultants, etc. Contact Information: • Interested qualified candidates shall submit a full CV with a cover letter explaining their motivation in applying for the job and highlighting their relevant skills and experience • To apply online please send your application and CV until April 30, 2020 • Academic certificates or references need not be submitted with the application.
