Job Duties: Ensure safe and efficient operation of maintenance services delivery process, specifically new workshop set up operations associated with expansion fleet Improving the logistic between the two workshop and reduce the tooling time To act as a technical expert to the Workshop team, supporting team members on tasks, leading, sharing knowledge and provide hands-on practical support. Implementation of 5S and Lean principles to optimize the efficient use of resources between the different maintenance bays Standardization of the workshop to allow for more effective and efficient ease of service and maintenance. Set up the tool room area in the new workshop and implement tool tracking system for efficient management of tools Maintain a culture focused on delivering “best practice” workshop maintenance and safety outcomes. Implementing workshop maintenance strategies for continuous improvement with emphasis on safety, performance and cost reduction. Establish a world class facility and obtain accreditation by Caterpillar’s 5 Star contamination control for workshop facilities Develop and Implement the Workshop Quality Management System Day to day safe and efficient running of the maintenance workshop operations according to company procedures and regulatory requirements Produce a LOM development plan of the Workshop, Welding Shop, Tyre Bay and Washbays Ensure staff are trained on proper use of workshop equipment and tools Support, demonstrate and facilitate the concepts of continuous learning and continuous improvement Perform other duties assigned by line manager SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Higher technical education with relevant specialization in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 5 years of experience at similar supervisory roles in a heavy earthmoving equipment environment, preferably gained in the open pit mining sector. Strong technical skills and knowledge across all aspects of mechanical systems for mining and mobile equipment including Diesel Engine and Fuel System; Hydraulic Systems; Gearboxes and Power Trains; Breaking systems; Modern Vital Information Management Systems-VIMS; Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET). Experience in managing electrical shovels and maintaining electrical schemes. Experience and skills in the development of technical specifications, work instructions and work orders (work guidance). Well rounded maintenance background, including servicing, rebuilding, technical trades, fleet (strategic) life cycle planning and budgeting. Knowledge of the RoK legislative and other normative acts, methodological and other materials relating to production activity. Knowledge of the basics of RoK Labor Code, HSE rules and regulations, fire safety requirements. Ability to recognize unsafe and hazardous conditions and remedy them. Good computer skills in business software such as Microsoft Office and CMMS’ such as Ellipse, JDE, SAP or Pronto. Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities. Excellent communication, supervisory, coaching and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization. Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations and conflicting priorities while providing leadership and direction.
