Duties and Responsibilities Candidate should have broad experience with gas turbine, steam turbine, compressors, and diesel engine instrumentation and associated control systems. Fully conversant with programming language and controls configuration software tools used in above systems. Should be able to write and plan preventive maintenance work on a wide variety of instrumentation. To include Pressure, Temperature, Level, Flow instruments and related equipment. Uses the authorised application of forces and overrides, to make safe, live, on line, process instrument adjustments. Experienced in the interpretation of all engineering documents including datasheets, P & IDs, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Loop Drawings, etc. Acts as the main instrument point of contact during any commissioning, planned and unplanned outages including any new plant start up work. Monitors all safety aspects of daily instrument work under his control. Provides effective liaison and communication with the operators during all instrumentation work under his control. Accepts responsibility for compliance with all Company standards on any assigned work or projects. Performs day or night shift duties as required. Reports to his direct to Resident Engineer, on any safety, administrative, operating or technical issues. Acts as work performing authority live-on-line instrument operations follows Company HSE rules and PTW system. Should be familiar with principles of electrical engineering applicable to instrumentation. Should be familiar with principles of electronics applicable to electronic instrumentation. Should be familiar with First Aid medical treatment of an electrocuted person. Should be familiar with instructions for the safe use of breathing apparatus. Should be familiar with instructions for use of cascade air breathing equipment. Person Specification Skills Requirement Language Proficiency Computer literacy, travel, flexibility, etc. Excellent English speaking/writing with 5+ years as Instrument Engineer, preferably with oil & gas and rotating equipment experience. A minimum of five (5) years experience working on Gas Turbines, Compressors, Fans and Power Generation Equipment, particularly on instruments and control systems (e.g. Mark VI, Fanuc, ABB AC400, FT110, CCC Series 5., WOODWARD, Allen Bradley). Education & Qualifications Qualifications/ Certification/ Other i.e. Trade Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree BSc in Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical Minimum Experience i.e. Years of experience; Industry (Oil and Gas, etc.); Overseas experience required Number of years relevant industry experience: 10 years Number of years relevant experience in the role: 5 years Specific Relevant Training i.e. BOSIET, Safety Awareness Training, specific software, etc. Expected to know Familiar with test equipment, multimeter, Hart communicator, Process calibrators, tooling etc. Advanced fault-finding techniques. Safety Requirements enabling the maintenance and adjustment of various process controllers off and live on line. Be able to write procedures for removal and installation of instruments and associated equipment. Be able to write calibration procedures applicable to process instruments and fire and gas devices. Be able to write procedures for calculating readings and calibrating instrumentation. Responsible person to write and implement bypass and applied force procedures when performing live process instrument work. Advanced knowledge on the use of technical instructions and wiring diagrams. Effectively use cause and effect diagrams, loop diagrams, flow diagrams and datasheets.
