Team / Division Description Vehicle Performance Engineering division (VPE) is part of Research and Development group at Toyota Motor Europe Technical Center in Zaventem, Belgium. Our division is in charge of: • Identifying customer requirements, and turning them into development targets for vehicles, their subsystems, up to each component. • Developing of passenger vehicles for European market. We do: • Plan vehicle structures to achieve the performance • Predict the performance, especially by use of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) • Guide design engineers to achieve performance, while meeting quality, cost and feasibility requirements. • Researching state of the art and beyond state of the art technologies for implementation in future vehicles Model based development (MBD) has a pivoting and expanding role in Toyota. We are looking for an engineer specialized in vehicle dynamic performance to reinforce our capability in the vehicle performance MBD and latest simulation technologies. You will be introduced to the Toyota Way in vehicle development and you will take part in vehicle development activities; moreover you will be contributing to improve our MBD methodology Your Responsibilities • Your primary responsibility will be vehicle performance development; as a MBD engineer, you will have a responsibility to understand vehicle dynamics related performance requirements and capture them into predictable and accurate simulation techniques. • To fulfil these duties, you will have a responsibility to develop a model reflecting on measured component or system characteristics, and to clarify the target performance with experiment engineer analysing vehicle dynamics data. You will need to consider carefully the assumptions in CAE methodology by test correlation and to manage performance robustness. Your Profile • Master degree in Engineering (mechanical, automotive, mechatronics are preferable) • Graduates with outstanding records in Mathematics and Physics • Knowledge of or interested in vehicle dynamics and related simulation tools (such as Dymola, MBS) is an asset • Good capability of Matlab scripting and Simulink modelling • Knowledge of control systems will be considered as assets • Team player with flexible mind and challenge spirit • Good practical problem solving skills • Willing to open for training in Toyota headquarters in Japan • Fluency in English, additional European language skills are an asset Place of Employment Belgium - Brussels (Zaventem) : Toyota Motor Europe, Technical Centre We offer a dynamic and challenging multicultural work environment in which competence and quality play an important role.
