We work on a high trust basis within the company, therefore we do not monitor work being done via taking screen captures, webcams, or log keyboard typing, as many other companies do. The professional reputation of our employees is of the highest value. About the role Lead Security engineer helps to safeguard the organization’s computer networks and systems. This person will work with customers and our teams, plan the workload for engineers, develop new security solutions and provide the client with a progress report. Pay attention: this person should communicate with customers in the USA. The working day can be shifted to the second half of the day if needed. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership for our teams; Be responsible for the technical part of successful project delivery as well as architecture proof; Manage technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities for the company and customers Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services including project leadership roles Establish effective communication and collaboration with the client and contractors; Analyze requirements and make/review estimates for scope of the work; Provide tasks to security engineers, check execution and quality standards; Solve complex problems during project implementation; Perform security assessments and review of AWS infrastructure (AWS Best Practices, CIS, HIPAA, PCI DSS, ISO 27001:2013, NIST 800-53, GDPR, FedRAMP) Vulnerability scans and penetration testing Perform security audits Required skills and experience 3+ years experience in the field of security in at least three of the following areas: application security, security engineering, incident handling, penetration testing Experience with building and operating secure infrastructures Strong understanding of security technologies including host and network-based protection and detection technologies Knowledge and experience with network, host, and application security practices Good troubleshooting skills Linux and Windows Server support (3-5 years) Production infrastructure support (3-5 years) In-depth knowledge of AWS and other public and private cloud infrastructure is required (including EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, and IAM) Experience with Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other network security technologies Ability to learn new technologies quickly Written and spoken English (excellent written and good spoken) Qualifications: AWS certifications desired You’ll be a great fit if: You desire to work with some of the world’s top brands You love finding solutions to interesting problems and figuring out how things work You welcome having autonomy with complex tasks You are passionate about using your experience and expertise to inspire the team What we offer # 1 Fair wage The fixed hourly rate in USD Full-time, 40 hours per week contract.
