Strategy & Operations Group is ready to act as a reliable partner throughout the entire process of strategic and operational planning, starting from the definition of the mission and vision, opportunities for growth of the business, identification of a business model most suitable for your needs, development / updating of the strategy followed by ways to increasing operational efficiency, including elaboration of the new organizational structure, business process optimization, development of key performance indicators and implementation of the strategic road map. KPMG Strategy and Operations Group in Astana is a dynamically growing practice that provides a wide range of strategic advisory services to leading companies in different industries of Kazakhstan. We are currently looking for experienced professionals to join our team and to grow with us to meet the needs of our expanding client base. Role description: Senior Consultant leads a key stream of an engagement, applying creative problem-solving skills, developing conclusions into recommendations, and working with senior leaders to implement change. You will work in close contact with project team members and combine your specific business knowledge and analytical skills to facilitate the decision-making process. As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role within a consulting project, have direct contact with senior clients, and on occasion work independently. Your tasks will include identifying issues, gathering primary data, forming hypotheses, planning and conducting interviews and analyses, developing conclusions into recommendations, and helping to implement change. You will go on to expanding your skills, assuming more leadership responsibility within your team, and working more closely with clients. The issues you analyse will get more complex and challenging, and you will become an expert in your chosen business field. It is expected that Senior Consultant to be participated in the following assignments: Strategic project might be, inter alia: — Corporate/Business unit/Gov strategy development — Marketing strategy — Consumer strategy — Product strategy — New market entry strategy — Strategic benchmarking Operational projects, inter alia: — Procurement — Reporting - KPIs/Balance score — Operating model, Business processes optimization — Cost optimization — Sales function improvement — Organizational structure optimization — Transformation and change — Head count optimization — Operational benchmarking Responsibilities: — Conducting primary and secondary research on the client organisation and the whole industry; interviews with the client and arranging focus groups — Identifying issues, gathering primary data, and presenting recommendations to key decision makers — Leading one or more project streams — Building strong business relationships with clients — Being a key team member on complex strategic advisory assignments: strategy reviews and development, market assessment, product development — Moving the client to action; developing a plan to implement strategic recommendations; managing execution — Presenting the results of your project stream. Keeping the whole KPMG project team as well as the client up to speed on the results of your work — Assessing competitive environment on target companies — Designing and executing strategic and financial analyses on prospective target companies and markets — Participating in the design and delivery of interview programmes with clients, customers and other potential industry participants — Contributing to the delivery and presentation of client deliverables and marketing initiatives — Playing an active role in business development activities — Coaching and supervising junior staff, developing your leadership skills Adopting the KPMG culture of encouraging your colleagues’ talents and aspirations Requirements: Higher education from a leading Kazakhstani or abroad university (degree preferably in Strategic management, Finance, Economics, Management, Mathematics, MBA is an advantage) — At least four years of work experience as Analyst (Financial/ Investment analyst) or Consultant/Senior consultant from one of Big 4 or consulting companies is an advantage Experience in strategy or operations related projects is a must Good knowledge of analytical methods Basic knowledge of macroeconomics/microeconomics Marketing analyses, Statistical tools (forecast methods, data analysis) Understanding features of RK Economics. - is an advantage Financial modelling is an advantage Fluent English and Russian OR At least upper-intermediate/intermediate English, fluent Russian Excellent computer skills MS Excel Strong OR excellent written and verbal communication skills Effective team player Strong analytical skills and logical thinking Exceptional attention to details Ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask What we offer?
