Primary responsibilities: US GAAP monthly and year end closing activities: Preparation and follow up of monthly closing calendar in Cadency. Ensure that dates in local calendar are aligned with global deadlines. Communication with other departments to ensure timely submission of monthly reports. Supervise monthly closing process and handling the exceptions, i.e. control that all monthly closing activities are completed on time. Actively manage the review of accounts to ensure all financial transactions are valid and recorded to ensure accuracy of reported data, perform variance analysis and plausibility checks using different sources of information. Effective communication with corporate consolidation team regarding monthly closing matters, e.g. explanation of deviations, effects of new transactions etc. Monthly reconciliations specific GL accounts in Cadency Posting JEs (inbound\outbound invoices for Intercompany (ICO) services Monthly reconciliations with Intercompany partners Preparation of FS analytical review on the monthly basis, incl. trends, expectations, commentaries Presentation of monthly FS results to Financial Director. Clear follow up commentaries. Statutory financial statements preparation: Retrieve Statutory FS Model on the monthly basis, classify new transactions and add mappings for the relevant statement, disclosure. Calculation of adjustments specific for statutory reporting purposes, e.g. expenses classification, deferred costs, ST/LT reclassification. Preparation of Cash Flow Statement by direct method Preparation and update of disclosure package template for statutory reporting purposes. Ensure timely and accurate completion of the package by other member of accounting team. Preparation of explanatory notes for statutory financial statements. Prepare reconciliation between Statutory and US GAAP on the monthly basis, challenge and deep dive to differences Preparation and timely submission statistics reporting via Kontur Extern Accounting policies and methodology for complex transactions Follow to Abbott accounting policies and ensure compliance with US GAAP. Review and update of local accounting policies and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Internal controls and Compliance Review and document internal controls attributed to FS closing process (FSCP) Promote a strong control environment and follow up on audit issues and implement correcting measures. Promote “substance over form” approach in performing control activities. External and internal audit Supervise external audit: manage and follow-up on auditors’ requests. Liaise with internal and external auditors, follow-up on any audit issues and implement correcting measures. Reporting systems Act as a SAP key-user, creation of SAP analytics (GL accounts, Profit centers, Cost centers) Challenge the Status Quo and propose and drive changes into SAP. Act as HFM key-user: provide methodology support to other members of the finance team. Act as a Cadency key-user: maintenance process for Closing and Reconciliation modules. Administrate Kontur Extern app (Statistical Reporting) Success Profile University degree in finance/accounting. Professional international accountant certification DipIFR or ACCA (F7-FR) Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience. Strong technical accounting skills, and experience researching and documenting accounting issues. English language –upper intermediate level. Good knowledge of SAP - advantage Strong user of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Fast thinker and drive to do things better Team-oriented and energetic. Highly motivated and engaged.
