Smarp is inviting senior Backend Engineers to join our worldclass tech team remotely as freelancers. You’ll be daily working with our close-knit tech squad based in Helsinki and we don’t mind your location as long as it’s roughly in the same time zone. We offer a full-time long-term project for 6 months and longer. STACK: Golang; AWS; GCP; k8s; Docker; Gitlab.. Our tech gurus work on our own SaaS product, an industry-leader employee communications and advocacy platform. They develop backend with Golang, but considering your vast technical background, you could learn it fast, so no need to stress if it’s not yet your biggest strength. As our Backend Engineer, besides enjoying being a Smarper, you will: Continuously build a clean, efficient, testable and scalable RESTful backend services used by Smarp app Work with cloud hosting services: AWS and GCP You are definitely the one we are looking for if you: Have Backend development background in distributed/scalable systems with high traffic web applications Preferably experienced with Golang but if not, the knowledge of Java, Python, etc would be a good foundation for learning Go Are familiar with both SQL and NoSQL databases, especially Postgres Experienced with Google Cloud Platform OR/AND Amazon Web Services Have a background in automated build pipeline / continuous integration e.g. using Jenkins or Gitlab Know container management technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, other...) Have experience/interest in site security, logging and monitoring Have knowledge of IP networking, DNS, load balancing etc Are familiar and have experience with these buzzwords (preferably with more/all): Kafka/event sourcing, microservices Are fluent in English And if you happen to have experience in frontend development with React JS, we're glad to talk about a Fullstack role if you wish so.
