ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Based in Moscow and reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing, verifying, and reporting the company’s financial information for all entities. The right candidate must have a strong understanding of US GAAP accounting rules and financial statements. Additionally, this candidate must be a self-starter and team player, have attention to detail and be deadlines oriented. We foster communication among your team as well as cohorts. We’re looking for someone who is into numbers and connecting dots as to the meaning of those numbers and the story/journey of the transactions. This leader will set up and manage systems and processes for analyzing and reporting financial information, oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Payroll functions, ensure organizations follow legal and regulatory requirements, and recommend improvements for business procedures. The ideal candidate is a result driven, organized, and creative thought leader with a passion for building exceptional teams and finding innovative solutions to common problems in a fast-paced startup environment. This position will interact regularly with senior leadership across all functions globally to ensure information is received in a timely manner and play a critical role in enabling senior management to make fast, data-driven strategic decisions. High degree of integrity, vision, and sound judgment is required. Responsible for the full-cycle accounting process to include everything from accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, payroll, and month-end close. Manage month-end close process and prepare internal financial reports relative to revenue, reserves, accounts receivable, accounts payable, product margin, and cost analysis, and operating expenses. Manage and support the Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), Billing, and Payroll functions. Review monthly reports and research to ensure financial transactions are complete and accurate. Reconcile General Ledger accounts, investigate, and rectify all discrepancies, assuring accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger vouchers. Perform financial and profitability analysis. Assist in financial statement audits, quarterly and annual tax reviews and filings, and compliance filings. Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and ensure adherence over key financial risks and identify/recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls, policies, and efficiencies. Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX controls, and external audits. Partner closely with the Corporate Finance team around monthly variance analysis, forecast and budget, management reporting, and GAAP reporting. Assist all other departments with any cross-functional requirements and process improvements. Lead the accounting team and provide guidance in the day-to-day operations, providing mentorship for the personal development of the team. Participate in other accounting projects, as needed. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or similar track is a plus. 5+ years of relevant accounting experience. Consumer product, telecom, or ecommerce experience is preferred. Solid experience driving full-cycle accounting process, including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), Billing, Payroll, and General Ledger Reconciliation. Advanced Excel skills. Working knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley is a definite plus Solid experience in creating and implementing accounting policies and procedures. Strong analytical skills and ability to dive deep into solving problems and data inconsistency. A track record of successful team leadership and collaboration. Interest and experience innovating processes and strategies. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Exhibit high levels of resourcefulness, influence, organizational savviness, execution skills (strategy through implementation) and executive presence. Must be effective at sharing ideas and information with peers and business leaders. Organized and strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to make accurate far-sighted decisions, oversee team and department progress, plan new initiatives, and be the face of the talent function of the company.
